Creating a Treaty

Reflection of making a treaty?

When making our Class 10WD was making a treaty it was hard getting everyone's point and answer of the treaty. It's really hard to put in the treaty because their are a lot of disagree's and agree's.The Treaty also has a teacher's say but not much people want because they think everyone is going to throw some negative comments but really we just want everyone's point so they it equal against everyone.

Dte project

In Dte we've been making a game for the sphero. We are making a drag race track for the sphero. We are creating a code for the game.We had an idea of hot potato because of how simple it was but we found a drag racing Idea so we decided to do it to make our idea simple but creative by putting obstacle to make it more creative and fun for the viewers.

Right now we are in progress of the track and in progress with the code.

Music Workshop

How did I feel about the song?

Can't really explain it but like a chill vibe on like a sunny day is the most I could day about the song. This song also give's me a happy vibe also, some sort of energetic feeling.

How did I feel about song 2?

The best way I could describe this song is like when a death has occurred or a sad scene in the film.

In the film hunger games music is used substantially to support the theme hope and rebellion. This is demonstrated when rue dies through minor chords which make the viewer feel sad.The tempo of the sound-track during this scene is slow revealing the emotion and grief which katnis is feeling. The Dynamic of this scene starts quietly and builds louder as the scene progresses.the director did this to make the audience feel connected to katniss in an emotionally charged moment, where katniss loses hope.the worked well with the following scene whjere district 11 riots.

Music

This is america:Childish Gambian is the composer of the song. The song is about violence in america and the racism in america.I think the song is alright I wouldn't say the best but it gives us a good understanding about america.

I have a dream:I have a dream is a speech wrote by martin Luther king jr.The speech is about racism also he has a dream that one day the racism will end and the white and the black will combine like a family.

Changes Tupac shakur:the composer of the song is amaru shakur aka tupac.the song is about racism.I like this song because its one of my favourite all time rappers.

Lighting and color

Here's a Link to the instructions for today's work.

Atmosphere-the mood or feeling of a place
Mood-feeling
location:A place of where it is set.
district 12
katniss is running to hunt in the wood.
Techniques:cold light-lots of greenery,Sunlight and clouds.
Effect on the viewer-Cold,not a place you want to be.old fashion, back to time.lots of poverty-Outdated materials, live closer to the land.

Co-lour palette-All the colors used in that shot e.g district,natural,greens,blacks.browns,grey.

Warm light-it is orange yellow or red
Cold-Blue,Green,white.It makes it feel clean,sterile.modern

Bright light-obvious,feel happy,energetic
Dull-Faded or muted light.tired lonely,sad

Natural light-sun,moon,reflections,stars,lightning,Fire
Artificial-Nightclubs,Screens,Man-made sources of light,electricity

Directors purpose-who has more privilege power and opportunity.(rich vs poor)no artificial sources of light.
Other techniques-Costumes grey/black-coal miners,black shoes less dirt.

Name the scene:Train station at the capitol

what's happening:the capitol citizen are waiting for the tributes to arrive.
Techniques-Lighting,Cold,bright,Artificial light-Electricity.Colorful,vibrant,vivid costumes and white and grey.
Effect on the viewer:Makes it feel modern,Set the mood-Happy for the tributes to arrive.

Directors purpose-rich vs poor-Power,privilege and opportunity.better sewing technology because the costumes are better, not poverty in capitol.they don't have to work.privilege of being able to go and to watch the tributes arrive.

In the scene at the train station, lighting and color are used substantially to show the theme rich vs poor.In this case, rich means the privileges given to those on the capitol. This is demonstrated the use of bright, cold artificial lighting and a modern color palette of whites and grey for the buildings and vibrant pinks and blues for the clothing. This makes the audience feel like the location is modern and citizens are excited  for the tributes to arrive.the purpose of this was to show that the capitol has privilege of technology-they have electricity, trains and access to better clothing,This worked well with the use of costumes.the costumes of the capitol are unique, exquisite and exotic which shows they have more variety and sewing technology than those of people in the districts.this can be juxtaposed to the conditions in district 12 where there is no electricity and the colors and lighting are more natural.

reflect on discussion

In discussion group we talked about costume and how it defines the theme rich v poor. What I learn't is the camera shots about Effie reveals that she has power and privileges over the d-12 people.

P.E

What we did in P.E?In P.e we played netball and the team participated and everyone had a turn with the ball.I think our team was successful because we all passed and communicated as a team.

Hunger games camera shots

Rich vs poor

Rich
Poor
Interview scene:
In the interview scene the people from the capital have more designer clothing and a-lot of makeup. The technology that is used is more modern compared to every other district. In the scene also during the reaping there is a blood verifier which determines their identity.and the train that is floating which is really modern.

Rich:More opportunities than d-12,more food, better properties,Modern houses, better clothing and makeup.Bigger area than every other district.Rich have more technology better transportation.

Medicines:People in the capital aren’t sick and they look healthier than the people from the district’s and the people from the district's look sick and unhealthy and hungry.

Reaping scene:
The reaping scene is when people from each district are chosen to play in the hunger games.A girl and a boy from each district are chosen.

During the reaping scene there was a video of what happens after the hunger games and the garden scene. In the garden scene the president of the capitol gives speeches and quotes and beliefs for the district's futures.

In the garden scene the reason why the scene was placed there is because the flowers and the plants show that there is hope and faith to the district’s.

Poor:Less opportunities,no food for example Katniss has to leave the area to hunt for food for their family, old clothes, broken buildings, houses.

In the hunger games, directed by Gray ross, costumes are used effectively to show the theme of rich vs poor. For example in the Capitolthe costumes are very posh, they are neat, tidy, and colourful even dogs are coloured.the material is futuristic and this makes us understand the capitol is more advanced than district 12.

1.“I volunteer!” I gasp. “I volunteer as tribute!”

2.”may the odds be in your favor

3.”thank you for your consideration”

These quotes are backups for my essay to the audience to know what scene i'm explaining about and so it doesn’t lose track of the reader also.It also gives a better understanding for the reader.9

Statement
In the Reaping scene in The Hunger Games, the idea of rich v poor is explained through the use of wide shots and close ups.

Explanation
The comparison between the wealth of the Capitol, represented by Effie, and the poorness of District 12 is seen in the wide shot of the people gathered at the reaping.

Example
A close up shot of Effie reveals quality, colourful make-up and costume. The wide shot of the crowd is used to show that they are forced to be there. This wide shot also shows a lack of colour in the population of District 12’s material and costume to show they are poor.In the high angle shots for example over the shoulder there is a stand out of colour compared to the district 12.Effie stands out more than and we know she has power over d-12 because where she’s from and what she looks like.

Music

1.Cooke wrote this as a protest song to support the civil rights movement, as black Americans fought for equality. Up to this point, most of his songs were either touching ballads

2.Samuel Cook (January 22, 1931 – December 11, 1964), known professionally as Sam Cooke, was an American singer, songwriter, civil-rights activist and entrepreneur. Influential as a singer, composer, and producer, he is commonly known as the King of Soul for his distinctive vocals and importance within popular music.

3.I think the song was alright, for a racism song and i think it really relates to rasicam and how weak the black power is compared to the white like the white has more rights than black but we are all equal.

What did you take from the song?
that racism is bad in a america but not just america also other countries but mostly in america because of the slavery that was in 80s in america. And I also know that is hard too live with black on your skin because of the way you look but everyone is just normal.

Lean on me

Link to Song:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOZ-MySzAac

Composer of the song?Bill withers is the composer of this song.he wrote this song because it was a good day and it says he wanted to write a song and he wanted to stop racism also and before he died He tried stopping it but it was too late to try.

When was the song written?"Lean on Me" is a song written and recorded by American singer-songwriter Bill Withers. It was released in April 1972 as the first single from his second album, Still Bill.

What is the song about?Singer/songwriter Bill Withers wrote "Lean on Me" based on his experiences growing up in a West Virginia coal mining town. During the lean times,

What arrangement of the song are you doing? Our group are putting different instruments that weren't in the song and trying to make it more creative.

Rich vs Poor-hunger games

Poor-in the beginning of the movie this shows what the character does for a living and how poor the character is and how poor the district is by the costumes are presented in the scene.Rusty houses, poor clothes and what they do for a living.

Rich-the Capitol is much richer and the way the costumes are presented is in  a rich vibe of the capitol. The music also represents the vibe also. The makeup also makes the characters in the scene look rich and fancy.their were close up angles that gives detail towards the characters.Reaping Day:In this scene the color and the lighting are in a faded color.the costumes is also tell us that d12 is a poor district and during the reaping day when someone is chosen everyone shows them and kind of exposes the characters that will be chosen for the hunger games. The technology their was the projector that is being used too showt the d12 people what happens after and during the hunger games. The other technology that is being used also is the blood verifying technology.in this scene the capitol their is makeup being used but in d12 doesn't have makeup and how the hair is being designed.

Why is the bow the weapon katniss uses?Because the she has talent with the bow and without it she wouldn't be able to survive against the hunger games. But without the bow she can't survive with out it and she suits the bow with an other weapon she wouldn't be able to suit it.How is tributes treated when they are selected? They are treated in a bad way, like in a forced way like they have too and they look very afraid to go to hunger games and they know what its like when people die and don't come back to their families.

What does the word tribute mean?Tribute means like you are choosing to be dealt in something like an organisation with other people. When you tribute you are mostly forced for something to do but you are really afraid to do it but you are really forced.

IN the capitol their is long shot and high shots because their are a lot of people in the capitol.they have close-up shots during the interview to show detail like makeup and new technology with a lot of colors .the audience are loud because their no being chose to be in the hunger games compared to all the other districts.the capitol have alot of technology during the tribute and a lot of people with luxury clothes and when the districts arrive they have horses as a luxury vibe of entering the tribute scene. The districts wear clothes from the capitol so it makes them fit and also their makeup that fits with their outfit.

In rues death their was a lot of sad music and a lot of close up shots.and after she died d11 had a riot because of rues death and their was a lot of damage during the riot and a montage full of damage also.their was music that had like a riot vibe and the camera movements, the camera kept moving to show how much damage they have done.

Katniss Everdeen | 100gamesvictorfanficstories Wiki | Fandom
The only reason why they didn't care about her shot is because they already seen her first shot and they thought that her first shot was gonna be as bad as her first one.but she shot the apple to grab their attention and that how I think she proved to them that she was worth playing the hunger games.

tribute reaping:during the reaping scene the way d12 dress is more poor-ish compared to the capitol and the way they are treated is like kind but a fake kind.the people from the capitol have a fake kindness too all the other districts.

What I've learnt so far in DTE?

What i've learnt so far in DTE?i've learnt how to use different sites like code.org/tinker-cad. Tinker-cad is my favorite because you can basically build anything you want like skeleton,dinosaurs,robots,etc.Code.org was one I really didn't like because coding was confusing and just didn't like it.
Here is a progression with tinker-cad  and I think I did better than before because, before using it I didn't know what to do but when spending a few minutes on it you kinda get us to it and here's what it turned out to better than before.

Are we addicted to our Phones?

Are we addicted to our phones?I’m not really sure but i think we are because there are a-lot people that stay on games, apps, etc and which make them want to stay on their phones because they're addicted to it and would spend a-lot of time on the app or game. 66% of the population shows signs of nomophobia, the fear of being without your phone. The average time spent on smartphones a day is 2 hours and 51 minutes.so i’m really confident that there are people that are addicted to their phones because of the percentage or who stays on or does not.

The Value of human life

"Your life is My gift to you,Treat it like one"

"Surviving has earned you right to be respected"

Here is an example of some quotes from unwind.Your life is my gift to you, treat it like one that was a strong quote that the characters in book didn't listen too.But they had a reason because in an unwound position they have nothing to do but to depend on life.

Surviving has earned respect was also a strong quote because they have been through a-lot like con nor he is more mature because he looked after a stoked baby and he survived during that tough situation because it also puts his life in danger because they have to steal food for the baby to eat and they have to go to public so they have a higher chance of getting caught and con nor risked his life for the baby.

Legality vs Morality

During a unwound process As I see as my own opinion I reckon if it would harm one person and save many more lives because their would be more kids around and they would feel safe around around a harvest camp.It would be better to save many than one more because a-lot of smart and intelligent kids go to harvest camps like in the book unwind they tell us about Roland,Connor,Risa,Lev.They all had potential but they just didn't think right because Roland and connor had a fight and roland got unwound So Roland just wasn't thinking and that's what got him unwound.

Connor Lassiter

Unwind part seven

  1. How is it that Connor was not unwound? p318
Connor isn't getting unwound because he's a good worker and they still need him around the graveyard.
  1. Whose arm does he now have? P319

  1. On p321 Risa tells Connors how she won't be unwound. Do you think her decision to not accept the spine of an Unwind was purely ethical, or was she also playing the system in order to stay alive? She knew con nor wouldn't be unwound so she followed him to what he was doing and how he beat the system.

  1. Since the explosions at Happy Jack, what have people been doing? What has Cy-Fi's role been in this? P325
Cy-fi is trying to make things suspicious so he's trying to keep it cool.
  1. Lev's parents disown him. Who is trying to become his guardian? P328.
pastor Dan is trying to give lev advice since lev parents don't have any connection with him.
  1. Why has Pastor Dan resigned? P329
he left the church because he doesn't want to be a pastor no more but he still believes in god.
  1. P331-332 explain what has happened to Harlan Dunfee. What do you think about the Admiral and his wife's plan? Was it what you expected?
he's body parts have been found and admiral is trying to put the body parts back together.
  1. Who takes over the graveyard? P331
Admiral does.

Wednesday, 22 July 2020

Unwind part six

1-Connor and Risa are sent to Happy Jack Harvest Camp. Describe what it is like, and explain why it is like this. Connor and risa are nervous and wanting to runaway because their body parts will be taken.

2-What is the exact percentage of the Unwind that you have to keep alive? Why is it not 100%, as Risa believes?Risa knows what's has happened through out since she has been unwound and she knows your life is not at 100% and she knows their is like a 50%.

3-What do the unwinds call the place where unwinding occurs? P271
Harvest camps are where people get their body parts taken away from them and those body parts get taken to people that need it.

4-Lev too, is at Happy Jack, but as a tithe. Why is this?
Lev isn't really unwound because he's still getting earnings from the harvest camp.

5-On p278 Connor and Roland finally have the fight that's been brewing between them. What does each character realise during this?that they will both be cut into parts with the behavior their putting up with.

6-P284 - What group has Lev joined, who recruited him, and when will they follow out their plan? lev joins the clappers

7-Roland is called for unwinding on p286. Why is this?
Because of the fight they had and if they keep meeting again the'll always have fights and unwinding people can't put up with it.

8-Chapter 61 is arguably the most confronting chapter in the book. Here we have Roland's first person narrative of being unwound. Do you think this chapter is necessary? Why do you think Shusterman chose to have Roland's experience detailed? Do his memories alter how you view him? how I view him was a lost kid that had not one that loved him he was talented at things and I reckon in the after life the'll realise what life is about.

Unwind part five

Part five

1-which job in the graveyard does Rosa get assigned to?

Rosa is a dishwasher so she does things like cleaning mostly around the graveyard like floor cleaning, dish cleaning, etc.

2-why doesn't Connors volunteer to work?

Connors didn't like the people around him so he didn't bother working because he knew their was no point trying to help out.

3-Roland take's out he's anger on someone to make him feel great because obviously he's annoyed by the amount of work their doing and he's getting over it.

4-detail Le's arrival, and Connors reaction. Make sure you fill in your character profiles for both characters.
Fed-ex delivered Levi in a box but an average big size one that can fit at-least one or two in.

5-Connors learns the truth about the Admiral here. How does the Admiral gain Connors trust? Admiral asks a lot of curious question to gain the trust he needs. 6-What, according to the Admiral, is it that Connor is becoming famous for in the Graveyard?p212 Connor is sort of getting a name for it because he kind of getting in charge of everyone.

7-How does Roland begin to assert his power in the Graveyard? (you'll need to look throughout the section) Roland begin's to become angry so they could be scared of him and so he'd get respect from others.

8-The Admiral was there when the Bill of Life was signed - do you think this detracts from the believably of the commonplace nature of Unwinding? In your opinion, do you think the book should have a few more generations between those who signed the Bill, and the present state in the novel? yes because then people could know if or when unwinding will be illegal or if it still happens to this day.

Monday, 20 July 2020

Unwind Part Five

  1. Which job in the graveyard does Risa get assigned to? How does this come about?Risa was like a maid in the graveyard work because in the story she's doing like chores such as dishes and cleaning around the house.
  2. Why doesn't Connors volunteer for "work"? He want's to volunteer but he doesn't know if he wants to he's like thinking about it. 3.How does Roland unsettle Connors? In the book con nor reaches for Roland's hand and which roland is kind of feeling anxious about it.
4- detail Lev's arrival, and Connor's reaction. Make sure you fill in your character profiles for both characters. When they arrive the try not to look to suspicious so they don't get recognised by the people shipping by FedEx. They are trying to act normal as possible.
5.Connor learns the truth about the Admiral here. How does the Admiral gain Connor's trust?
6-The section ends with Cy-Ty reaching his destination. What do you think of his parents' behavior? What does Levi's support show you about his character?Cy-ty sounds similar to cy-fi they both sound desperate for something.

Matariki Poster

In social studies we had to make a poster to make matariki a public holiday I chose to replace the queens birthday for matariki. This is a poster of what my poster says about the queens birthday and how irrelevant her birthday is to others.

Refugees Inquiry

In Social studies we Had to study about Refugees,In this subject we had options of other countries like Syria, south Sudan, etc.I chose south Sudan because I thought it was easy an had all the information but it was rare for some reason but at the end I got it done but here's a presentation about south sudan refugees.
